This weekend was what Mom and Dad referred to as "the weekend of the dog." That means it was all about ME! On Saturday morning we drove down to Fort Woof and participated in a charity fundraising walk for CLASP (Cowtown Loves Animal Shelter Pets). I was soooo excited when we got there. There were so many dogs and people I just couldn't help but be a bit exuberant. Obedience training? What obedience training? I pulled on my leash and refused to heel. Some girl scouts put a bandana on me, and I tried to sit on them while they were kneeling on the pavement.
Here's a picture of me in my bandana about halfway through the walk. It's not the best photo ever, but still, I look pretty handsome don't I?

The best part was after the walk was over. I got a couple of treats from some nice people, and then Mom and Dad took me to play! This was my first time at Fort Woof, and let me tell you, we are so going back. I had a total blast! Mom and Dad didn't get nearly as many pictures as they should have (one can never have enough, really), but here are a few highlights.
I don't remember what I'm looking at here, but whatever it was certainly resulted in decent butt shot. Mom thinks my fluffy, white butt is cute. What do you think?

Taking a rest after a serious case of the zoomies.

Here is Mom's favorite picture. This is on our way out of Fort Woof walking to the car. The aforementioned girl scouts were doing their good deeds of filling up the water bowls for the doggies. I could not resist wading into the giant puddle they'd created, and of course I immediately plopped down right in the middle of it, much to the amusement of the squealing scouts. People, it was hot. If you didn't think ahead of time to bring towels with you Mom and Dad, then that's your problem.
(This is the face of a happy dog.)
I was worn out after all that. I slept the whole way home.
And that was only Saturday morning! In the afternoon we went to my advanced obedience class. Mom and Dad didn't take any pictures during class, but I had a really good time. We worked on moving into heel position and on coming when called with a LOT of distractions. My favorite part was the game we played. We had a race to see which dog could carry the most toys from one side of the room to the other. I loooove picking up and carrying my stuffies at home, so this was a very fun game for me. After our class was over, Mom and Dad took a tour of the pet hotel there at Pestmart. I got to hang out with my friend Jessica while they were on the tour. I loooove Jessica.
While Jessica and I were hanging, I decided I'd try out the chairs they had sitting around. Nobody was using them. Shouldn't somebody sit in them?

(Look at the camera? What for? There are more interesting things to look at over there.)
I never even try to get up on the furniture at home (well, okay, except that one time I got in bed with mom). There was something particularly appealing about this cheap, metal, foldable chair. Perhaps it was the attention I got for doing something so "cute"?
Stay tuned for the installment of "Weekend of the Dog, Day Two".
